Caro's video highlights a major risk for any organisation using AI systems: the human labour chains behind them. It shines a light on the workers paid tiny amounts to carry out data work that makes AI systems possible. First presented at #RISK London in October 2024, it brings together research from leading academics on the problems and showcases some of the projects addressing these global issues at the UN, ILO and EU level.

Caro's latest appearance on the Fit4Privacy podcast, discussing all aspects of the EU's AI Act, in particular how its main focus is product safety. Product safety is a very different area of law to data protection. Caro runs through key aspects of this field of regulation and its enforcement, and gives her insider knowledge of the technical regulations being drafted under the AI Act.
